Goal: to promote independent living for wheelchair users through the organization of quality services, which conform to their specific/special, needs
Independent Living Center is a project, which was implemented by the Association “MOTIVATIE” of Moldova modeled after a project of Romania’s MOTIVATION Foundation and conforms to the philosophy and movements for independent living. Initially the project proposed for wheelchair users from all over the Republic of Moldova to travel to the capital, Chişinău, for services, but for a more efficient implementation of activities, “MOTIVATIE” decided to purchase a building in the town Vadul lui Vodă, (a suburb of Chişinău). The house was rebuilt after a particular design, taking account of the needs of wheelchair users.
Beneficiaries: Children and youth who are wheelchairs users and theirs families; specialists in the field
The Independent Living Center provides the following activities:
Occupational therapy (development or improvement fine mobility, independent life-skills education, adaptation to new conditions and environments, agro therapy):
Technical assistance (assessment and prescription of wheelchairs, wheelchair assembly, repairs and individual adaptations, counseling in the field of home accessibility) :
Psychological assistance (individual therapy and group counseling, testing, professional orientation, art therapy, music therapy, creativity and development of effective communication skills):

Other services / activities (implementation of a database of beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries, lobbying, education and training of specialists in the field, summer camp, awareness and informational seminars to beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries in villages and towns throughout the Republic):
