General Information

The Association “MOTIVATIE” of Moldova is a member of the European Association of Service Providers For Persons With Disabilities (EASPD) www.easpd.eu and founder the Alliance of NGO’s in the field of disabilities (AOPD).    

     

  The Association “MOTIVATIE” of Moldova (AMM) is a nongovernmental, independent, apolitical, founded in October 2000. It was given distinct legal status on 22 January 2002, when it was registered at the Ministry of Justice nr. 2079 and certified as a public utility organization.  

        

    

MOTIVATIE’s Vision

“There does no exist persons with disabilities. There exist only societies that create barriers and difficulties for people with different needs. Disability is held within the society itself, not in the physical condition of each individual.” (Simon Brisenden, 1986)

    

 

MOTIVATIE’s Mission

  – improving quality of life of persons with physical disabilities through the creation of alternative services, involvement of beneficiaries in these services and in the promotion of their rights.

Scopul: The goal; support the social integration of children and youth with disabilities by changing the mentality of rejection expressed by society. 

    

Objectives:

 - Achieve a change of mentality among the population, with particular attention on children and youth with disabilities and their parents, which would promote their social integration and decrease the phenomenon of marginalization and social exclusion

 - Prevention of abandonment and institutionalization of children and youth with disabilities.

 - Preparation of “ change agents” among journalists, teachers, educators, and social assistants for the increase of knowledge about social integration of children and youth with disabilities.

 - Facilitate the social integration process (for children and youth with disabilities) by offering specialized social services and support information.

 - Active rehabilitation of children and youth who have spinal-cord injury.

 - Supporting the participation of children and youth with disabilities in social activities and to promote their active participation in the decision making process with regard to their own personal welfare.
